Going for the Gold

Well, it has now been about two months being bedridden. Watching the olympics the other day I was getting ambition thinking, “I want to go for the gold in God’s program! To do my best to minister to Him and to be godly.” Oh to be able to be alive and with it and striving for imperishable crowns and to be able to finish strong with the Saviour saying, “Well done.” These thoughts were actually discouraging as with limited strength it has been difficult to just focus on one verse during devotions let alone be out there ministering. The very next day I read this, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Cor. 4:17). This sickness where I can do nothing is actually part of going for the gold!
